Position Details: Work Shift: Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Department: Linden Avenue Overview of Position: Provide the transportation of patients/clients to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, dialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, medical offices, and their private residences in a safe, secure, and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1.
Transporting patients and clients utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
2.
Effective communication with dispatch regarding schedule progress and to receive instructions.
3.
Maintain a professional image and attitude regarding clients, visitors, and co‐workers.
4.
Complete daily vehicle pre‐trip and post trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
5.
Assist clients and patients as needed to safely complete the transfer.
6.
Accurately complete activity logs vehicle reports.
7.
Responsible to understand and operate GPS devices, 2-way radios, and cell phones.
8.
Acts as a preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees and students as assigned.
9.
Performs start of shift vehicle and equipment check, ensuring the vehicle and equipment is clean and ready for use.
10.
Adhere to and follow all policies and procedures concerning safety and contamination by bloodborne pathogens.
11.
Keep accurate logs of their trips for recordkeeping and billing purposes, completing, and submitting paperwork at the end of their shift.
12.
Respond to all transports with optimal response times, work expediently to assure availability of vehicle, and perform in such a manner as to maximize vehicle utilization and productivity.
13.
Conduct yourself in a professional manner following the three P’s of Genesis Community Ambulance, Pride, Proficiency, and professionalism.
14.
Must be able to communicate clearly with patients, family, or other professionals.
15.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient, staff, and Genesis Community Ambulance matters, following all HIPAA regulations 16.
Maintain work area (vehicle and station) in a clean and safe manner.
17.
Report any day to day incidents, equipment malfunctions, or supply shortages in writing to the duty supervisor prior to the end of your shift.
18.
Carry out other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
2.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible for driving privileges based on current Genesis policies and procedures.
3.
Must have CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of hire.
4.
Must complete and maintain required wheelchair drivers training.
5.
Must be able to read maps and navigate around service area.
6.
Must have previous customer service experience with a good track record of assisting customers in a thoughtful, caring and timely manner.
7.
Must have a great work history with a track record of being a reliable responsible individual 8.
Must read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
9.
Must read and understand English.
10.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
11.
Ability to assess situation needs and problem solve.
