Minimum Qualifications:
Should possess high school diploma or its equivalent.
A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is preferred, but not required.
Current CPR and first aid certification preferred.
Will be required to pass an ODOT physical provided by an ERS approved provider.
Is at least 21 years of age.
Has the ability to read, write, and understand the English language and speak the language in an understandable manner.
Possesses the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public in a fast-paced work environment.
Possesses adequate sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.
As a Driver you can expect to:
Drives ERS Affordable Living vehicles on trips including, but not limited to, grocery shopping, other shopping, life enrichment trips, and supply delivery, utilizing safe driving practices including the observance of all State, Federal and Local laws.
Assists residents, when needed, getting in and out of vehicles, maintaining safety procedures and ensuring resident clearance of closing doors.
Offers assistance with packages when necessary.
Maintains the appearance of ERS vehicles by exterior and interior cleaning.
Maintains ERS vehicles in excellent working condition by informing Transportation Supervisor when preventative maintenance is due and when mechanical problems arise with any part of the bus, including the mechanical lift.
Reports incidents/accidents to the police and the supervisor as soon as possible.
Completes and submits to supervisor an ERS incident report form within 24 hours of any incident or accident occurring.
Is reachable by cell phone or text message when on outings, answering or responding only when it is safe to do so.
