The Director of Regulatory Policy, Compliance, and Environment of Care is responsible for analyzing, directing and strategically guiding all Ministry functions regarding regulatory policy and compliance In addition, this position is responsible for the environment of care, safety management and risk management for the Ministry including residential homes and program/service delivery locations.
This position will also serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and will help guide the overall direction of the Ministry.
Work performed will be of a very complex, professional and confidential manner.
Work requires a complete working knowledge of regulatory compliance standards regulations in the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) social service field.
This position requires an ability to gather and analyze facts, make quick and sometimes critical decisions, remain impartial in making decisions and guide others related to regulatory compliance standards.
This position requires excellent communication skills, analytical skills, organizational and time management skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and organizations.
This position has frequent contact with the general public, governmental / regulatory bodies, legal counsel, Ministry stakeholders, board members, employees, leadership teams.
This position will work in a variety of settings and under stressful situations.
A positive image and conduct of a professional, ethical nature is required at all times.
This position will serve on several committees and is expected to attend board meetings, committee meetings and Ministry events both during work time and after hours.
This position reports directly to the President/CEO.
Work performed requires a significant amount of independence, self-direction and self-discipline.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: Juris Doctor (J.
D.
) strongly preferred or Master’s Degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration, Risk Management, or nonprofit sector- or human services-related EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Policy/Government Relations and Compliance.
Proven competence in analyzing regulatory Experience in working with legislative and stakeholders within the developmental/intellectual disability community, with thorough knowledge of applicable regulations and contemporary knowledge of new developments or changes in field of developmental disabilities and autism.
(Experience Continued) Leadership experience, demonstrating collaborative supervisory style and affinity for leading within a culturally and politically diverse environment/community.
Must hold a valid driver’s license, insurable driver’s record according to the Echoing Hills’ insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, community meetings, training events, vendors and suppliers, etc.
Position also requires a demonstrated Christian background and a demonstrated ability to fulfill the mission and purpose of the Ministry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations with Medicaid Rules and Regulations of Medicaid related General knowledge in Standard Precautions, Infection Control, Environmental Safety, Building Evacuation Procedures and Weather Emergencies Strong skills in organizational culture, change management, project management, process improvement, program management, achieving quality outcomes, and efficiency.
Successfully-demonstrated strategic thinking skills, with ability to be a decisive, yet flexible and adaptable problem solver and to revise strategies as necessary.
Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals including Board of Directors, Corporate and Regional Leadership Staff, team members, and the general public including regulatory agencies and community representatives.
Data driven, strong knowledge of data collection techniques.
Must possess organization skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to use independent judgment and make complex decisions affecting the organization.
Must have excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and public presentation communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency of computer-based equipment and programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher, PowerPoint, G Suite (Google applications) and smart phone.
Computer skills to include Human Resource Information System, word-processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Ability to handle multiple functions at a time, work in stressful situations, meet established deadlines.
Ability to communicate the Ministry’s mission and purpose on a one on one basis and in front of groups whether individuals served, co-workers or the public.
Must have knowledge and understanding of Christian principals, ethics and morals and a faith in Jesus Christ.
