STAFF NURSE
CARDIOLOGY
Position Summary
A clinically competent registered professional nurse who delivers patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning and delivery of care, patient education and delegation of nursing care.
Requires both cognitive and technical skills to work with complex equipment and assist physician specialists with performance of cardiopulmonary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures specific to the cardiology services .
Has the ability to perform multi-tasking, priority setting and can adapt to changing demands in a fast paced environment; must work independently and work well with others.
Work entails interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with physicians, hospital staff, offices, patients, families and other guests.
Accountable to the patient and family for care provided and to the patient care supervisor/manager for the totality of performance.
Meets all standards and requirements of the LMH universal job descriptions.
Assist Physician with invasive/non-invasive procedures.
Previous cardiac care or critical care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Establish process improvement indicators and improve outcome
Understands and administer IV medications to patients in emergency situations.
Assist physician specialists and nurse practitioner with the care of patients.
Enter charges using the computer system.
Work with physician specialists to perform cardiopulmonary testing, including TEE, cardio versions, stress testing, tilt table tests, and loop recorder insertions.
Work in the heart failure clinic with medical oversight.
Cover in cardiac rehab when needed.
Requirements
Maintains registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio.
Past experience in cardiovascular and/or critical care setting, preferred.
Demonstrated competency in conscious sedation.
Demonstrate competency in telemetry.
Demonstrate competency in ACLS.
Work as a member of a team.
Work independently.
Is flexible and can adapt to change and daily assignment as needed.
