Overview:
Assists teams in daily management of multiple capital improvement projects associated with The Wilds.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the execution of assigned projects from concept through project closeout.
Maintaining project schedule, budget and labor resources and reporting regularly on project status to leadership team.
Develop scope, budget, and schedule information for leadership approval.
Manage scope expectations, project costs, and schedules to deliver projects, on time and within budget.
Build and manage project teams and acquire resources for project delivery through competitive and/or negotiated procurement processes.
Oversee activities of project team members including internal resources as well as external vendors, contractors, and design professionals.
Issue and evaluate vendor, contractor, and supplier RFPs, including but not limited to design professionals, general contractors, trade-specific contractors, etc.
Prepare/update and review project status reports, purchase orders, and invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain complete and accurate project data.
Escalate and manage risks impacting budget, schedule, or client business impact both internally and to the client.
Acts on behalf of The Wilds and associated parks as liaison between consultants and Wilds personnel.
Constantly strives to further the mission of the organization and avidly supports the Columbus Zoo Family of Parks.
Acts as a representative of The Wilds including appropriate dress, language, and attitude in all activities providing a positive example to all staff.
Assures safety of self, staff, animals, and guests through regular participation in safety training and activities; compliance with standard operating procedures; and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Establishes diversity, equity, access, and inclusion as a priority in all programs and activities.
Implements sustainable practices in daily tasks whenever possible.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years of demonstrated experience in delivering projects for commercial, real estate, or capital applications.
Degree from an accredited institution with a preference in Construction Management, Design, Engineering or Real Estate required (related experience may be substituted for degree).
PMP, PE or other professional designation preferred.
The ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, limited weekends and holidays may be required.
Strong written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to plan and organize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner and without direct supervision required.
Familiarity and ability in reading site, architectural and engineering drawings.
Strong ability to develop RFP documents, managing RFP processes, project planning, schedule development and management, budget development and management and project tracking and reporting.
Ability to provide excellent guest service by interacting with guests positively and upholding the Make it G.

Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all Columbus Zoo Family of Parks team members and contacts regarding company business required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Project) and PDF editing software (Bluebeam, Acrobat, etc.
)
Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures including but not limited to safety protocols required.
Possession of a valid state issued motor vehicle operator’s license and a good driving record required.
Proof of negative TB screening prior to placement and annually thereafter required.
Ability to adhere to the Columbus Zoo Family of Parks’ drug-free workplace policy including but not limited to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and follow-up treatment required.
Ability to successfully complete a criminal history background check annually required.
