Job Description TITLE: Marine Assistant Reports to: Store Manager, Marine Service Manager Non-Exempt SUMMARY: Demonstrates great hand-eye coordination and should be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
The ability to assist customers with parts, general questions and scheduling of services.
Responsible for inventory and parts room along with assisting with cleaning and organizing the work and showroom areas.
Assisting Marine techs and manager with small repairs when needed.
Prepping and Cleaning boats for customer pickup.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
¦ Answering customer calls and scheduling customers for service.
¦ Assisting customers with parts.
¦ Inventory and keep the parts room organized.
¦ Assist marine techs with services and minor repairs.
¦ Working knowledge of customer systems, including Microsoft based products like Outlook, Excel and Customer Service programs.
¦ Completing service records and repair documents.
¦ Reading through repair and installation orders to determine the material, time, and equipment required to prep items for techs.
¦ Cleaning and prepping boats for customer pick-up.
¦ Assist with keeping work and showroom areas clean and organized.
¦ Liaising and consulting with the marine service manager and other relevant professionals and vendors.
¦ Ability to operate boats, trailering a boat, pick up and drop off boats.
(Willing to train for this part of the job.
) ¦ Enforces safety, health, and security rules.
¦ Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
¦ All other duties as required by management.

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer Service experience required.
Practical experience with tools and equipment used in marine maintenance.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have above-average knowledge of: Microsoft Suite, CRM systems, Point of Service Systems; Internet Software.
