Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Responsibilities: Summary: The MP Plant Engineer enhances the production of Poles, as well as Flanged products, by working as part of a cohesive team that supports and implements technological improvements to equipment and processes.
Completes engineering projects by planning, organizing, and controlling project elements.
Supervises the development and implementation of a project, oversees facility upgrades and is actively involved in any other project-related work.
Each project has different specifications, goals, environmental conditions, and financial considerations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below.

This position is a full time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.
Develops project objectives and responsibilities by reviewing project proposals and plans, developing timelines, assigning personnel to phases, reviewing bids from contractors and conferring with management.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
Prepares status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors, and schedules.
Allocates project resources appropriately; approves expenditures; employee contractor contracts.
Ability to interpret blueprints and product specification documents.
Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
Utilize analytical and organizational skills to gather data and identify opportunities for improvement Continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and improve performance Implementation of solutions to machining related manufacturing issues Use machining background and programming skills to assist in developing programs and fixtures for product transfers to international manufacturing sites Troubleshoot machining processes for product quality and reliability issues Studies product design, customer requirements performance standards, then determines project specifications.
Presents cost estimates and performance standards.
Presents procedures, rules, and regulations to those involved in the project; maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures.
Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulations.
Improves work methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
Development and deployment of standard work documentation.
Troubleshoots and works with Maintenance to resolve problems.
Works within budget constraints.
Observes all Company, housekeeping, safety and plant policies and procedures.
Has strong written, oral, communication and facilitation skills.
Fosters a focus of continuous improvement.
Keeps Engineering Manager informed of problems and important matters as they arise.
Core Functions/Critical Elements: Project Engineering (40%): Accurately research, design and estimate cost of engineering projects, schedule project resources and manage contractor agendas.
Foster a relationship throughout the organization and EHS that instills safe work habits among the life of the project, creating an environment which maintains compliance and support of EHS goals.
Maintenance (40%): Proactively foster partnerships with maintenance staff and facility managers to resourcefully implement equipment advances, perform predictive and preventative maintenance while overseeing daily departmental maintenance to ensure machinery up-time and capability.
CNC Programming (10%): Manage CNC program development of current and future CNC machinery in the department.
Innovation (10%): Diligently cultivate trusting relationships among the department/organization to seek a thorough understanding of production needs.
Proactively identify and research new technologies which offer advancement in production processes, equipment longevity/efficiency, lean principles, and safety systems to include budgetary cost and projected timelines for approval.
Assist with implementing new technologies/advancements and provide knowledgeable support/training to the production floor.
Seek out continuing educational opportunities for professional advancement/knowledge.
Key Performance Indicators: Sustainability: 100 % On time Delivery of Projects.
Sustainability: Less than 10% overage on all established budget parameters.
Sustainability: Approved project turnaround time to be less than 6 months.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees the work of vendors and contractors in the completion of work including but not limited to costs, schedule, completeness and quality of work, safety, and environmental factors.
Qualifications: Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience: A four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or Industrial Technology with CAD degree OR an equivalent combination of related post graduate education and/or experience is required.
Must be mechanically inclined, having good mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system design and troubleshooting skills.
Project management experience coordinating resources and/or certifications a plus.
Exposure to lean concepts also preferred.
Computer Skills: Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications for word processing, email, database management and spreadsheets.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD software.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and other documents such as Company policies, procedures and manuals.
Ability to prepare business correspondence, detailed reports, work instructions, operating procedures, and processes.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must be mechanically inclined; and have good mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system design and troubleshooting skills.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD and Inventor.
