The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to our quality standards.
Additionally, this role involves the strategic planning and execution of facilities management, including space planning, compliance, maintenance, and workplace safety initiatives.
*Key Responsibilities* * Construction Management: Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
* Project Planning: Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
Meet contractual conditions of performance.
* Risk Management: Review the work progress on a daily basis.
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
* Facilities Management: Along with the Maintenance & Project Manager, oversee the operation and maintenance of building systems and services.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
* Budget Management: Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability.
* Team Leadership: Provide guidance and educational opportunities to building management staff.
Foster a collaborative work environment.
Manage the Maintenance and Project Manager and maintenance/facilities staff including volunteer groups.
* Vendor Management: Work with third party contractors to manage meetings, timelines, and hold them accountable.
*Qualifications* * Proven working experience in construction management or facilities management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior role.
* Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
* Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
* A strong understanding of engineering and architecture principles.
* Ability to plan and see the “big picture.
” * Competent in conflict and crisis management.
* Leadership and human resources management skills.
* Excellent time and project management skills.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills with both staff and community members.
*Education* * Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
* Relevant certifications in project management, such as PMP, or facilities management, such as CFM, are highly desirable.
