*Position Overview:*
The Lead Quality Inspector will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality standards are upheld throughout the production process.
This individual will oversee the team of Quality Inspectors across all shifts, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining documentation, coordinating testing activities, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and addressing immediate operational issues.
*Key Responsibilities*:
Recruitment and Selection:
* Assist in the recruitment and selection process for Quality Inspectors as required.
Training and Development:
* Provide training to Quality Inspectors across all shifts, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Documentation Management:
* Maintain and improve forms used by Quality Inspectors, updating them as necessary to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Supervision and Delegation:
* Supervise Quality Inspectors on all shifts, overseeing task delegation, scheduling, goal setting, communication, and approval of time off.
Material Review Board (MRB) Support:
* Assist in the disposition process after MRB review.
Lot Testing Coordination:
* Coordinate internal and customer-mandated lot testing activities, including both ballistic and non-ballistic tests, and manage pink test status placards.
Quality Improvement:
* Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and scrap reduction activities to enhance overall product quality.
Gemba Board Maintenance:
* Maintain daily postings on the Gemba board to ensure visibility of key metrics and improvement initiatives.
Operational Troubleshooting:
* Address immediate issues related to scanning, defect detection, IT problems, and other operational challenges affecting QC operations, coordinating with relevant teams as needed.
Certificate of Conformance (CoC) Review:
* Review and sign CoCs for outgoing products to verify compliance with quality standards.
Production Process Audits:
* Conduct regular audits of production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Production Coordination:
* Ensure seamless movement of products through QC inspection operations in alignment with the production schedule.
Support:
* Offer assistance to Quality Inspection points as required to uphold efficiency and effectiveness, including filling in during the absence of an inspector or performing other assigned duties.
