This position is responsible for coordinating personnel, managing parts, giving instructions, overseeing production, assisting the Supervisor, and substituting for vacancies.
Main functions: parts management, coordinating training, monitoring production and daily operations.
Consistently supports key concepts of Q-D-C (Quality, Delivery & Cost).
2nd shift 3pm-11pm
*Major Responsibilities*
* *Instruction—*Support all company policies and procedures; follow instructions provided by direct leadership members (including other duties as assigned).
Participates in production meetings.
* *Work Area—*Make sure that the work area is cleaned and orderly to ensure safety of each member and efficiency of production.
* *Personnel & Operation Management—* Determines adjustments to be made to manpower or schedules on a daily; makes recommendations as needed.
Manages operation sheets, standards, and process conditions.
Ensures that work is being completed within the standard time frame and give instructions accordingly.
Assists Production Supervisor in monitoring attendance and keeps the Supervisor informed.
Provides feedback to Supervisor related to members’ performance reviews.
Addresses complaints and helps resolve problems.
Assists Supervisor in determining appropriate action steps, time frames, and resources for achieving the goals/objectives and monitoring measurables.
* *Prioritizing—*Confirm the prioritization of Manufacturing Orders and give instructions accordingly.
Revise production schedules as a result of equipment failure or operating problems as appropriate.
* *Handling and Transport Management—* Confirm that the group safely and accurately handles and transports materials.

* *Operation & Setup—*To maintain high quality within the team confirms that tool checks (e.
g.
visual inspections, air pressure, hydraulics, coolant pressure and levels, tools, instrumentation,) are being done prior to operation.
Gives instructions accordingly.
Assists Supervisor with daily team meetings and running daily production.
* *Post-process—* If a defect occurs within the team, determines the appropriate countermeasures, and under the guidance of the Supervisor, takes the appropriate corrective action steps.
* *Troubleshooting*— For issues the Team Leader can resolve, he/she should resolve them and report them to the Production Supervisor.
Other issues consult with the Supervisor.
Identifies areas of deficiency and proposes effective countermeasures.
* *Reporting and Records—* Report all pertinent issues to the Production Supervisor/Manager; confirm that all pertinent information and conditions are correctly transmitted to the next shift and give instructions otherwise; as need be, make and manage documentation such as Defect Occurrence Reports, Production Reports, Equipment Inspection Sheets, Quality Records, Problem Logs, and Attendance and Payroll Records.
* *Maintenance*—Evaluates consumables (tools, bits, coolant, etc.
) on an ongoing basis and reports any needs to the Production Supervisor.
* *Training—*When necessary, update and create operation sheets; develop and execute training schedules; record training results in Database.
Oversees training of Members on use of equipment and maintains up to date training records.
*Background Requirements*
High School Diploma, GED, or higher; vocational school or equivalent experience preferred.
*Experience:*
Machining experience and two years in a Lead or Supervisory position in a manufacturing environment preferred.
