JOB SUMMARY:
The Physical/Mechanical Engineer provides engineering support for the AFPSL and Technical Order functions.
Designs, develops and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment and machinery.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in metrology or related discipline.
Working knowledge of metrology theory, principles, and practices in assigned measurement areas.
Understanding of theory and application of measurement uncertainty analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform other related duties as assigned.
