Summary
The Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, leadership and continuous improvement of designated work areas.
This position empowers hourly workforce to accomplish 100% quality, responsiveness, production, customer service and safety in a team-based environment.
Key position results include but are not limited to, equipment is staffed and running safely and efficiently; timely performance evaluations; interaction management procedures are followed; and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented and tracked.
A successful candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to work efficiently and effectively with other functional areas to meet or exceed quality and delivery requirements.
Seeking someone with solid leadership skills and a background in Welding.
Responsibilities
Manages performance evaluations, interaction and disciplinary process.
Manages staffing and scheduling (including overtime and vacation).
Assists teams (including maintenance and engineering) with continuous improvement initiatives (driving safety, quality and process efficiencies).
Manages goal setting, tracking and communication.
Identifies training needs and coordinates cross-training opportunities.
Acts as facilitator between operations support teams and other departments.
Assists sales, Production Control and Production Coordinator in expediting critical orders.
Assists quality and technical services in resolving quality issues - customer claims, corrective action as assigned by technical services and quality department.
Participates in safety meetings, investigations and audit reporting to superintendent.
Provides support and direction for Safety.
Manages reporting verification - daily production, daily maintenance downtime – report root cause analysis, daily call off, and safety audits.

Required Experience
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
Technical knowledge with the ability to communicate with operators, engineers and maintenance
Ability to delegate and promote team growth
Excellent analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills
Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization
6 or more years in a manufacturing environment
6 or more years in a leadership position
Desired Experience
Strong knowledge of equipment capabilities, pressure vessels and welding
Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions; weld symbols, and operate required tools involved in position
Good problem solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality
Highly motivated self-starter that is adept at taking initiative
Able to consistently maintain production averages at or above the expected standards
Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 10 hours a day
6 months of previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge
3 to 5 years weld experience
