The Superintendent is on-site project leader responsible for overall administrative and technical management of the construction project.
Oversees the day to-day operations of work performed including self-performed work, and work by subcontractors.
Provide field technical direction and ensure compliance with contract, safety standards, and quality standards.
The Superintendent is the backbone of the project site, requiring complete and thorough technical knowledge of the construction process, the ability to multi-task responsibilities, and exceed the project goals.
Essential Functions include; Superior communication skills, ability to plan and organize a team effort, capacity to motivate, lead and boos morale of the teams, good client management and goodwill building ability, effective time management and logical decision-making ability, capacity to handle pressure, capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams, provide innovative and effective management practices to maximize employee(s) performance, ability to track employee attendance, discipline, field time, project codes and lead the entire field construction project from start to finish and adhere to all company policies.
This individual is expected to construct the project in accordance with the plans, specifications and standard work practices.
Maintain and secure all tools, equipment and materials on the job site.
Organize site logistics and cleanup to present a safe, professional worksite, Review and understand detailed scope of work for all subcontractors and suppliers.
Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to risk, disputes, and claims.
Work closely with the project team to ensure all required paperwork and documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Review the Documents for potential change order requests to the owner for additional work, and work outside the scope of the contract.
Read blue prints and make recommendations to project team for design or other changes that will enhance the quality of the project, reduce operating costs, improve on the schedule or decrease construction costs.
And assume additional responsibilities, duties, tasks, as directed by the President, Vice President of Operations and General Superintendent.
Must have:
An valid Ohio Driver's License
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, orally, diagramed or in a schedule format.
Four-year Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and practical experience.
Minimum of ten years of experience and three years as a supervisor in construction projects.
Must be able to successfully complete the I-9 requirements.
