This position is responsible for the of assigned specialty machines to produce THK’s high quality precision products.
This may include machine setup and adjustments, operation, troubleshooting, changeovers, daily maintenance and inspection.
Main machines include: Die Cast machines, Deburring machines, trim press teaching robots and other LB specialized equipment.
Instruction—Support all company policies and procedures; as well as follow the instructions provided by direct leadership members (including other duties as assigned) Work Area—Maintain a neat and orderly working environment to ensure safety of each member and efficiency of production.
Operations—Attain a thorough working knowledge of the operation(s) (including operations sheets, methods and standards) by following the instructions provided by the trainer(s); complete assigned operations within the standard time.
Main operation includes Deburr, Trimming, and Finishing Operation.
Eventually develop operate multiple pieces of machinery to produce high quality product efficiently.
Machine Setup—Inspect machine to ensure safe, efficient and quality production before operating.
Depending on the machinery, inspections may include but are not limited to visual checks, air and hydraulic pressure, coolant and water level, and lubrication checks.
Setups include setting machine data, changeovers, test runs, etc.
Handling and Transport—Safely load and unload materials to and from machines and to and from carts; involves handling materials normally by hand or heavy materials by mechanical assist or with two members.
For safe handling, carefully transport work carts with only non-defective products on to the next process in a timely manner.
Engage in frequent physical activity for extended periods of time.
Machine Operation—After all preparations are made for operation (including necessary test runs), run the machine(s); continuously monitor machine(s).
Be comfortable in operation of machine.
Attain a thorough working knowledge of machine alarms and ability to reset various alarms on all machines.
Post-process—Check accuracy of measuring instruments and confirm quality of products with them; in the event a non-conformity is found, report it to the supervisor and follow the appropriate countermeasures to prevent recurrence before proceeding.
Troubleshooting—Correct for minor problems; request assistance of the supervisor for major problems.
Develop troubleshooting skills.
Reporting and Records—Report all problems to supervisor; pass pertinent information (including machine status) on to the next shift (tag-team); where required fill out and maintain Defect Occurrence Reports, equipment status records, production status records, quality records and minor problems records; maintain other records as necessary.
Maintenance— As necessary, replace consumable; routinely check inventory of parts and supplies and report low stocks to the supervisor; regularly clean machinery; perform any additional maintenance based on ability and assignment.
Training—When assigned by the supervisor, give instructions or training to other members.
Background Requirements Qualifications: Incumbents must have the aptitude to acquire the basic skills required for this position within the 3-month orientation period; ability to identify component pieces used in the manufacturing process; working knowledge of documentation (such as drawings and operation sheets, etc.
).
Aptitude for measuring (taking readings, making calculations and keeping records).
Must be motivated and move with urgency from line to line to reset alarms and assist members as needed Education: High School Diploma, GED, or higher; vocational school or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: Experience with LB machinery is preferred THE TMA WAY.
