Summary (Scope of the Job): This position is responsible for assigned specialty machines to produce THK’s high quality Link Ball products.
This may include machine setup and adjustments, operation, troubleshooting, changeovers, daily maintenance, inspection and training.
LB specialized equipment (various machines, welding, automated machines, etc.
in LB) II.
Major Responsibilities Instruction—Support all company policies and procedures; as well as follow the instructions provided by direct leadership members (including other duties as assigned) Work Area - Maintain a neat and orderly working environment to ensure safety of each member and efficiency of production.
Operations - Attain a thorough working knowledge of the operation(s) (including operations sheets, methods and standards) by following the instructions provided by the trainer(s); complete assigned operations within the standard time.
Material and Part Preparation - Following the instructions of the supervisor, prepare the materials and parts according to the Manufacturing Orders (MO) assigned priorities.
Confirm the contents on the next MO (model number, quantity, dimensions, due date, attached drawings and any other special requirements) and that they match the materials.
Handling and Transport - Safely load and unload materials to and from workstations and to and from carts; involves handling materials normally by hand or heavy materials by mechanical assist or with two members.
For safe handling, carefully transport work carts with only non-defective products on to the next process in a timely manner.
Post-process - Depending on the process, check accuracy of measuring instruments and confirm quality of products with them; in the event a non-conformity is found, report it to the supervisor and follow the appropriate countermeasures to prevent recurrence before proceeding.
Depending on the process follow procedures for rustproofing.
Troubleshooting - Correct for minor problems; request assistance of the supervisor for major problems.
Reporting and Records - Report all problems to supervisor; pass pertinent information (including machine status) on to the next shift (tag-team); where required fill out and maintain Defect Occurrence Reports, equipment status records, production status records, quality records and minor problems records; maintain other records as necessary.
Maintenance - Where required, replace consumables, routinely check inventory of equipment, parts and supplies and report necessary goods and low stocks to the supervisor; regularly clean machinery; perform any additional maintenance based on ability and assignment.
Training - When assigned by the supervisor, give instructions or training to other members.
Machine Setup - Members who operate washers, wrapping and packing machines, laser welders and marking machines oversee those machines, their material supply, daily checks and cleaning III.
Background Requirements Qualifications: Incumbents must have the aptitude to acquire the basic skills required for this position within the 3-month orientation period; ability to identify component pieces used in the manufacturing process; working knowledge of documentation (such as drawings and operation sheets, etc.
).
Aptitude for measuring (taking readings, making calculations and keeping records).
Education: High School Diploma or GED; vocational school or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience in manufacturing.
Experience processing component parts preferred.
