Position Purpose: Assemble components in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Operates equipment, conducts required quality checks and interprets production work orders.
Essential Functions: Able to use a Bill of Materials to build units using proper materials and parts.
Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as overhead hoists and cranes.
Apply paint to suspension parts using spray gun.
Perform minor maintenance on machines and equipment including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and minor maintenance checks.
Accurately report daily activities on work orders, Kanban cards and other media as required.
Meet established production standards.
Must understand how to interpret and use production work orders / product router special instructions.
Collect and properly store waste paint and solvents according to established procedure in secure storage areas.
Exercise safe working habits while operating equipment and tools.
Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
Comply with the Quality Management System.
Properly follow Work Instruction / Training Guides & Control Plans Adhere to ISO14001 Environmental Policies applicable to assigned areas & overall general plant requirements.
Adhere to Auxiliary Axle Systems Employee Handbook Other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular attendance.
Education and Training High School Diploma or GED required Minimum Qualifications 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar industry.
Be self-motivated, have strong initiative and strong communication skills.
Computer skills required.
Ability to work hours outside regular schedule and overtime as needed.
Physical Demands Regularly required to stand; walk; bend; balance; and grasp.
Occasionally required to climb; squat; or kneel.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
